The Accidental Journalist

The Accidental Journalist is an account of my life as a national newspaper journalist in the late 1990s and early 2000s, retold in an ‘autobiographical novel’ style.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNT ABOUT FALLING INTO JOURNALISM…

  1. No-one likes a sub-editor.
  2. Journalists like freebies.
  3. Everyone wants to be a columnist and reporter. Not a sub-editor.
  4. Journalism doesn’t pay. This should be Number 1.
  5. Journalists are WEIRD.
